Yes. If the log was already certified, any edit requires you to re-certify that day's log to confirm the change.
Yes. If you edit a log that was already certified, you must re-certify it before it is considered complete. An edited log that has not been re-certified is flagged as pending review.
What Log Certification Means
When you certify a day's log, you are electronically signing a declaration that the log is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. This is a legal attestation required by FMCSA. After any edit — whether you added a missed event, annotated an entry, or accepted a fleet manager's change — the certification is invalidated and must be renewed.
How to Re-Certify
The re-certification process is the same as initial certification: 1. Open the driver app and go to **Logs**. 2. Select the day that was edited. 3. Review the current state of the log, including the change and any attached notes. 4. Tap **Certify** (or the equivalent confirm/sign action in the app). 5. Confirm your digital signature.
When Re-Certification Is Required
- After adding a missed duty status event - After accepting a log edit suggestion from your fleet manager — see driver approval of fleet manager log edits - After accepting a driving time reassignment — see re-certifying logs after a reassignment is approved
If You Don't Re-Certify
An uncertified or re-certification-pending log may appear as incomplete in the Fleet Portal and could be flagged during a DOT inspection. Re-certify as soon as possible after an edit is made.
