Yes. A co-driver must actively approve a driving time reassignment request before any changes take effect. The request does not apply automatically.
How the Co-Driver Receives the Request
When another driver submits a reassignment request, the co-driver receives a push notification in the Route One ELD driver app. The notification includes the date, time, and duration of the driving event being reassigned.
Steps to Approve
1. Open the driver app. 2. Tap the reassignment notification, or go to **Logs** and find the pending request. 3. Review the driving event details — date, start time, end time, and duration. 4. Tap **Approve** to accept the reassignment.
Once approved, the driving time is removed from the requesting driver's log and added to yours.
After Approving
Both drivers must re-certify the affected day(s) — see re-certifying logs after a reassignment is approved. Your log now includes the driving event; review it carefully before certifying.
If the Request Doesn't Look Right
If you don't recognize the driving event or believe the reassignment is incorrect, you can reject it. See what happens when a co-driver rejects a reassignment for what occurs next.
While your response is pending, both logs remain locked — see what happens to logs while a reassignment is pending.
