The app records all data in offline mode. Once your connection is restored, the data syncs automatically. Do not log out of the app or restart the tablet while offline — this can cause data loss.
Losing cellular signal in remote areas is common for truck drivers. Route One ELD is designed to keep recording accurately even when offline.
What Happens When You Go Offline
The app switches to offline mode automatically. All HOS data — driving time, duty status changes, location events, and engine data — continues to be recorded locally on the device.
When Connection Is Restored
The app automatically syncs all offline data to the cloud in the background. No action is needed from the driver. The fleet manager sees the data as soon as it syncs.
Critical Warning: Don't Log Out While Offline
If you log out of the app or restart the tablet while offline, locally stored data may not sync properly. Keep the app running and signed in until connectivity is restored.
What About Inspections While Offline?
You can still show the PDF log report to a DOT inspector from within the app — this doesn't require an internet connection. The electronic transfer option (FMCSA transmission) does require connectivity.
What Triggers a Cellular Connection?
Moving into a coverage zone automatically reconnects the app. No manual steps are needed. The status indicator in the app shows whether you're online or offline. Check tablet requirements to ensure your device supports 4G LTE.
