How to View and Understand HOS Violations in the App

Tap 'Logs' in the app. Any day with a red exclamation point has violations. Tap that date and expand the 'Violations' dropdown to see each violation and the exact time it occurred.

Knowing how to find and interpret HOS violations in your logs helps you stay compliant and respond quickly if an issue arises.

Finding Violations

Open the Route One ELD driver app and tap "Logs" in the bottom navigation bar. Any log date with a red exclamation point icon has one or more HOS violations for that day.

Reading the Violation Details

Tap the flagged date to open that day's log. Scroll down to find the "Violations" section and expand it. Each violation shows the type (e.g., "11-Hour Driving Limit Exceeded"), the exact time it occurred, and how many minutes over the limit you were.

Common Violation Types

The most frequent violations are: exceeding the 11-hour driving limit, driving past the 14-hour on-duty window, missing the 30-minute break after 8 hours of driving, and exceeding the 70/60-hour weekly limit. See a full breakdown of all HOS rules.

Correcting Errors

If a violation appears due to a data entry error (e.g., wrong duty status selected), your fleet manager can submit a log edit request from the Fleet Portal. You must accept or reject the proposed change in the driver app.
