Yes. Mileage data is collected on all plans, but generating and downloading IFTA reports requires the Basic ELD plan or higher.
IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) mileage reports require the Basic ELD plan or higher. The Free plan records mileage data but does not allow you to generate or download IFTA reports.
What IFTA Requires
IFTA is a fuel tax reporting agreement between U.S. states and Canadian provinces. Motor carriers operating in two or more jurisdictions must file quarterly fuel tax returns showing miles traveled per state. ELD-generated mileage reports are the most accurate source for this data.
What Each Plan Provides
- **Free plan** — mileage data is recorded automatically across all jurisdictions. You cannot generate or export IFTA reports. You would need to manually extract the data or upgrade before filing. - **Basic plan ($7.99/vehicle/month)** — full IFTA mileage report generation and export. Reports are available by date range, vehicle, and jurisdiction. See how to generate an IFTA mileage report for step-by-step instructions. - **Enterprise** — includes all Basic features plus custom reporting options.
Your Data Is Not Lost on Free
If you're currently on the Free plan, your ELD is still recording mileage data. Upgrading to Basic gives you access to reports generated from that historical data — miles recorded before upgrading are not lost.
Upgrading to Basic
You can upgrade from the Fleet Portal at any time. See Basic plan details for a full list of what's included, or compare all plans.
Note: if you cancel or downgrade from Basic back to Free, IFTA report generation becomes unavailable. Export all reports you need before downgrading.
