Is Route One ELD Available in Canada?

Currently, Route One ELD is designed for FMCSA compliance in the United States. Canadian ELD mandate compatibility is on our roadmap. Contact us for updates.

Route One ELD is currently built for FMCSA compliance in the United States. Here's what Canadian carriers need to know.

Current Availability

Route One ELD is certified under the FMCSA ELD mandate (49 CFR Part 395) for carriers operating in the United States. This covers all interstate commercial motor vehicle operators required to use an ELD under U.S. federal law.

Canadian ELD Mandate

Canada has its own ELD mandate administered by Transport Canada, which took effect January 1, 2023. The Canadian mandate has different technical specifications from the U.S. mandate, and devices must be certified under the Canadian standard separately.

Current Status for Canadian Carriers

Route One ELD is not currently certified for use under the Canadian ELD mandate. Canadian carriers who operate exclusively within Canada should use a Transport Canada–certified device.

Cross-Border Operations

If you operate cross-border (U.S. and Canada), you need a device certified under both mandates. Contact our sales team to discuss your cross-border requirements — we're tracking Canadian certification as a roadmap item.
